A Parkland massacre survivor just publicly called out Melania Trump for her cowardice

To see just how cruel and rotted through to its core the modern Republican Party has become, one need look no further than the manner in which they’ve treated the brave survivors of the tragic Parkland shooting.

After watching their teachers and classmates brutally murdered by a gunman wielding an AR-15-style rifle, the students chose to become activists for sensible gun reform. In response, conservatives launched an all-out assault on their credibility and character.

One of the most despicable displays came from Fox News host and cryptofascist water carrier Laura Ingraham. Apparently, she and her NRA-beholden bosses are so worried about the Parkland teens accomplishing their goals that they’ve decided to switch from criticizing them, to outright bullying them.

Ingraham posted a link to an article which she briefly summarized, mocking Parkland student David Hogg because his admission application was rejected by four schools.

Hogg has been one of the most vocal of the Parkland activists, and as such has become something of a punching base for the frothing MAGA hordes. Ingraham’s attack is nothing more than petty, pathetic mockery of a boy who has been through unimaginable horrors and emerged stronger and braver for it. It shows that the activism is working and has gun manufacturers terrified.

Hogg, not one to be easily intimidated, hit back hard by shaming Ingraham’s advertisers and calling for a boycott of her show. The move shows intelligence as well as the fact that these students always choose the high road. Hogg didn’t insult Ingraham, he went straight at her sources of income.

David’s sister Lauren came to his defense as well and she too showed admirable restraint. Rather than insult Ingraham, she tweeted at First Lady Melania Trump. Melania has repeatedly said that one of her major goals as First Lady is to curb cyber-bullying, a claim that has been widely derided since thus far she refuses to do anything about even her husband’s horrendous social media behavior.

Lauren Hogg gave Melania a chance to put her money where her mouth is. She informed the First Lady that her brother was “literally getting cyberbullied” by Ingraham, a completely fair and accurate description of the  Fox anchor’s behavior. Hogg then simply asked if Melania had any comments.

It seems unlikely that Melania will actually do something since she has failed time and time again in the past to take a courageous stance on anything. In any case, Hogg should be commended for defending her brother and holding those in power accountable.
