The Republican Party’s regressive agenda has once again found itself hampered by its very own incompetent leader. President Trump has threatened to veto the $1.3 million budgetary spending omnibus passed by Congress. The move would be a harsh rebuff of GOP members of Congress who played a large role in shaping the bill.
Trump took to Twitter to complain that the massive spending bill doesn’t include enough funding for his pet border wall and also pretended that he was upset that there was no solution to DACA included.
The second point is completely disingenuous because it was Trump himself that ended DACA in the first place. If he wanted a solution, he could create one with a stroke of his pen.cNow he wants to blame his own initial evil action on Democrats, but also wants to avoid actually passing DACA legislation because that would enrage his xenophobic base. By lying outright he thinks he can have it both ways.

In the tweet, he said he is “considering” a VETO, which for some reason he spelled in all caps. If Trump does indeed veto the bill it would trigger a government shutdown, the third of his tenure.
A Democratic aide told The Hill that a shutdown could end up seriously hurting the GOP in negotiations. “One of two things will happen. He either signs the bill by the end of the day, or he ends up signing a bill he likes even less after Republicans have to renegotiate with Democrats to get out of a shutdown,” the source said.
Aside from the disadvantage, a shutdown would heap on Republicans, it would be another stark reminder of just how truly incompetent Donald Trump is. Even with control of the entire government, he can’t even manage to keep it running. Pathetic.
I am considering a VETO of the Omnibus Spending Bill based on the fact that the 800,000 plus DACA recipients have been totally abandoned by the Democrats (not even mentioned in Bill) and the BORDER WALL, which is desperately needed for our National Defense, is not fully funded.
