Michael Avenatti, the pugnacious lawyer representing President Trump’s porn star mistress, Stormy Daniels, has been making the rounds in the news media in recent days.

Daniels alleges that she and Trump had a months-long affair between 2006 and 2007, one that the two initiated not long after his wife and current First Lady, Melania Trump, gave birth to their son, Barron.

Just before the 2016 presidential election, however, Trump’s longtime personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, paid Daniels $130,000 as part of a broader non-disclosure agreement that effectively barred her from speaking publicly about their affair. Once Trump was elected, the story went away.
The payment from Cohen to Daniels wasn’t confirmed until early this year by the Wall Street Journal, and since that revelation, Daniels has maneuvered to squash the non-disclosure agreement. She’s suing Trump directly, arguing that he failed to sign the NDA which makes it null and void, which in turn means she can go public with her story without any restrictions.

Last week, Daniels – whose real name is Stephanie Clifford – taped a tell-all 60 Minutes interview that’s set to air this Sunday evening on CBS. In the run-up to her big primetime debut, Trump’s henchmen have reportedly been trying everything to intimidate Stormy Daniels back into silence. They’ve even filed a counter lawsuit arguing that she’s already violated the NDA and is liable for up to $20 million in damages.

Michael Avenatti isn’t intimidated. He’s been making multiple public appearances to represent his client, and he’s taunted the president and his lawyers for over a week, essentially challenging them to bring it.
Late Thursday night, Avenatti took his public relations offensive to a whole new level. He tweeted out a photo of a DVD inside of a safe that’s about to be locked with the caption, “If “a picture is worth a thousand words,” how many words is this worth?????”

What’s on the DVD? All we know for sure is that President Trump has spent a tremendous amount of money and legal power to keep Stormy Daniels quiet. There is definitely something on that DVD that Donald Trump does not want anyone to see.
We’ll know more after 60 Minutes aires this Sunday. Between now and then, however, don’t expect very many people in the White House residence to get much sleep.
