A disgraceful Trump Jr. tweet mocking divorce just came back to haunt him

Yesterday, it was revealed that Donald Trump Jr.’s wife Vanessa Trump had officially filed for divorce in the Manhattan Supreme Court. The two have been married since 2005 and have five children together. According to family friends, they have been leading almost entirely separate lives in recent months.

Immediately after the divorce was announced much of the country experienced a healthy sense of schadenfreude at Trump Jr.’s expense. The detestable, lying, cheating bully deserves every bit of misfortune headed his way for his prominent role in the ongoing degradation of our republic.

The fact that a woman was willing to marry him in the first place is shocking, but kudos to Vanessa for finally rectifying the mistake she made thirteen years ago. The children will be better off away from his negative influence.

That said, some commentators on the right and even a few on the left decided that mocking Donald Trump Jr.’s imploding marriage was immoral, despite the fact that he is a morally repugnant monster who regularly whips up his father’s bigoted base with coded racist remarks and gleefully fabricated conspiracy theories.

Perhaps those defending Trump Jr. should have dug a little deeper into his Twitter account before rushing to his side though because the odious, eldest spawn of our game show president isn’t above mocking the divorces of others.

In 2011, he took a cheap shot at Kim Kardashian for her divorce from NBA player Kris Humphries. It was a mean-spirited, unprovoked tweet against a woman who didn’t deserve it and provides conclusive evidence that Trump Jr. is, in fact, fair game for mockery.

It’s also worth noting that Kardashian has since married musician Kanye West. The two are, by all accounts, deeply in love and are the parents of three beautiful children. A final point should be made that Kardashian — who Trump Jr. clearly thinks he’s better than — has built a multimillionaire dollar empire from scratch while little Donnie has his father to thank for all of his nepotistic success.
