In a disturbing and tragic continuation of Charleston church shooter Dylann Roof’s saga, his sister was arrested today for bringing a knife to school after posting on social media her hope that those participating in the national school walkout would be shot.

“Your [sic] walking out for the allowed time of 17min, they are letting you do this, nothing is gonna change what tf you think it’s gonna do? I hope it’s a trap and y’all get shot we know it’s fixing to be nothing but black people walkin out anyway,” she wrote. “No offense ofc buuut.”
(“Ofc” is slang for “of course” and “tf” is slang for “the fuck”).

Roof has been released on a $5,000 but ordered to stay away from her school.
Her brother, white supremacist and domestic terrorist Dylann Roof, infamously killed nine people – all black – at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church on June 17, 2015. He had hoped to ignite a “race war.” He is currently on death row.
Notwithstanding Morgan’s vile rhetoric and ideology, which is obviously a recurring theme in the Roof household, her remarks come at the precipice of a change in Americans’ acceptance of gun violence. With today’s walkout attracting national attention, and next week’s March for Our Lives promising to draw millions to the streets, Republicans will finally have to choose which is more important: American lives or kowtowing to the NRA.
Until then, we can breathe a sigh of relief that Roof didn’t have her hands on a gun.
