Trump’s ex-National Security Adviser just had to sell his house to pay for his legal bills

President Trump’s former National Security Advisor and convicted felon Lt. Gen Michael Flynn just had to sell something he probably regrets to pay his mounting legal bills after pleading guilty to Special Counsel Mueller.

Disgraced General Michael Flynn put his Alexandria, Virginia townhouse up for sale on the market for $895,000 only three years after buying the relatively new home. Two weeks ago, Flynn reportedly turned down shady money from Donald Trump’s legal defense fund.

Even though General Flynn turned snitch on the President last December, that hasn’t lessened the heavy financial burden of hiring DC-based legal counsel for the remainder of the Special Counsel’s investigation. ABC News reports:

“I’m not going to sugarcoat it, this has been a trying experience” for Flynn and his wife, Lori, his youngest brother told ABC News. “It has been a crucible and it’s not over.”

Michael Flynn, the retired Army general and ex-Trump national security adviser who pleaded guilty last year to lying to FBI agents about his Russian contacts, has put his Virginia home up for sale to pay mounting legal fees, friends and family members told ABC News.

Today’s news underscores the narrow plea that General Flynn took last December, only admitting to a single count of lying to the FBI about a national security investigation while in his capacity as one of our nation’s most important national security officials.

After Trump made him the shortest tenured NSA in American history, Flynn later admitted that he had been operating as an unregistered foreign agent of Turkey’s authoritarian regime during the 2016 election and during the transition period.

At the same time, Flynn took secretive payments from Russian state-run businesses and had dinner with Putin, as well as worked on a shadowy Russian-Saudi-American nuclear deal during his 24-days in office and even during the inaugural ceremony.

Clearly, General Flynn was far more ambitious behind the scenes as a political player than just coining the infamous “lock her up” chant at the Republican National Convention.

Now, karma has caught up with the 60-year-old former military intelligence chief for doing 11/10ths of anything that Hillary Clinton did.

General Michael Flynn committed a felony, got caught and pled guilty for lying to the FBI to covering up his conversations during the Trump Transition with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak about sanctions.

That’s why Flynn is going to have to move out of his posh townhouse just across the Potomac River from the capital, because of the criminally poor judgment he showed while working with Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, transition, and administration.
