A pro-marijuana legalization group has just launched a new fundraising campaign. The organization is selling rolling papers with Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ face on them.
The group, called #JeffSesh, aims to raise awareness around marijuana consumption and reframe consumers as normal people, not the thugs and criminals that Sessions has characterized them as.
The group explains its mission on its website.

“We’re not criminals, junkies or idiots. Regular Jeffs all over the country — good, responsible, patriotic Americans — have a sesh now and then… and it’s OK!”
The site sells two boxes of rolling papers with the Attorney General’s name and likeness on them for $5 a pop. The group is new, having just joined social media earlier this year. No word yet on whether the proceeds will go to a pro-marijuana cause.
Sessions’ position on marijuana is deeply unpopular, as multiple states have already legalized its recreational use and others consider doing so. Nine states including California, Colorado, and Washington State all voted to legalize recreational weed. 13 states have decriminalized but not legalized it. It’s legal for medical purposes in 29 states.
But Sessions is staunchly anti-marijuana. He moved recently to rescind Obama-era rules that allowed states to legalize it even while it remained prohibited under federal law.
Sessions approach will reignite the fires of the war on drugs, which ravaged mostly communities of color and resulted in the incarceration of a whole generation of black men.
#JeffSesh’s approach may be light, but they’re lighting up in service of the greater good.
