Orrin Hatch just leveled profanities at his own constituents in off the rails speech

Utah Senator Orrin Hatch just got caught name calling and it looks like he needs his mouth washed out with soap. In a speech to the American Enterprise Institute, the Republican senator didn’t mince words.

He called supporters of Obamacare some “of the stupidest, dumbass people I’ve ever met.”

Then he went on to disparage the landmark piece of legislation, which made healthcare accessible to millions of people, did away with preexisting conditions, and allowed young people to be covered under their parents’ insurance until the age of 26.

“We […] finally did away with the individual mandate tax that was established under that wonderful bill called ‘Obamacare.’ Now, if you didn’t catch on, I was being very sarcastic.”

He repeated that same, foul refrain again.

“[The Affordable Care Act] was the stupidest, dumbass bill that I’ve ever seen. Now, some of you may have loved it. If you do, you are one of the stupidest, dumbass people I’ve ever met.”

You can watch the video footage of the Senator’s disparaging speech here.

Senator Hatch played fast and loose with his words. It’s unbecoming of a lawmaker. The bar is so low for decent behavior on Capitol Hill, it hardly comes as a surprise anymore. But what’s still surprising is how Senator Hatch is obviously willing to be just as cavalier with the lives of the constituents he’s insulting.

Conservative estimates hold that dismantling Obamacare would kick tens of millions of people off of their healthcare, resulting in needless deaths from treatable illnesses, lost wages from missed workdays, and countless other hardships. Senator Hatch seems not to care about the welfare of the American people nearly as much as he does about partisan politics.
