Sources just revealed the creepy list Trump has been keeping in secret

Every new detail that leaks out about President Trump’s behavior in the White House broadens the portrait of a deeply unhinged, paranoid, and dangerous man. It appears that there are no anecdotes from White House officials that depict the president as competent or well-suited for office in the least. It’s all bad news, all the time.

As special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation closes in on him, Trump has taken to ranting about how he is the victim of a “witch hunt” in a fashion that is eerily reminiscent of the late, disgraced Richard Nixon.

It now turns out that the two men share an even closer, more disturbing commonality. The Washington Post reports that President Trump’s aides have been compiling files to record the names of those that have criticized the president. The behavior is almost identical to Nixon’s infamous “Enemies List.”

Reportedly, the files specifically focus on Republicans but also include people outside his own party who have dared take issue with Trump’s bumbling incompetence. It’s perhaps not surprising behavior given Trump’s longstanding reputation as an exceedingly thin-skinned crybaby, but it’s nonetheless unsettling. A list like this serves one purpose: planning for eventual reprisal. The president should be focused on running the country, not plotting revenge.

Senator Bob Corker (R-TN) in particular was singled out in the files, presumably because of his much-publicized Twitter feud with Trump. In his case, the files are said to be used as a reminder for Trump that he shouldn’t give the senator too much support if he decides to run for re-election.

So far, it appears Corker will not be doing that. He previously announced his retirement, then flirted with the idea of running again, but currently seems to be going ahead with his plans to leave the Senate.

The fact that Trump is compiling such a list shows what a vindictive, petty man he is. It is not the behavior of a man in full possession of his mental or emotional faculties.

This country has real enemies abroad, most notably Vladimir Putin’s Russian Federation which has been actively seeking to undermine our democratic institutions. Trump has refused to enact sanctions on Russia despite Congress overwhelmingly voting in support of them and has even at times publicly expressed doubt that the Russians interfered in the 2016 election at all.

On top of that, Trump has been antagonizing a nuclear-armed North Korea when the mood strikes him and also recently approved a surge of 4000 American troops to combat the Taliban and their terrorist allies in Afghanistan. All of which is to say that he should be devoting his full attention to these foreign adversaries. Instead, he’s building a list of Americans who said things that hurt his feelings. Pathetic.
