In the aftermath of the tragic mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, in which a former student used an AR-15 to kill 17 people and injure over a dozen more, Trump has opted to exploit their loss for his own personal gain.

The inclusion of this photo is especially heinous given the fact that Trump is effectively owned by the NRA, whose sole priority is the proliferation of guns in American society. Thanks to intense lobbying, gun regulations are so lax in parts of America that the Parkland, Florida gunman actually bought his military-grade weapon legally.
The students of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School have been front and center leading the charge against the NRA, a campaign that has already resulted in a mass exodus of corporate partnerships. They have also called on Americans to vote against those who accept donations from America’s most powerful gun lobby, which funds a slew of Republican campaigns.
Trump may try to pervert this wholly avoidable situation to benefit himself, but Americans have woken up to the shameful reality that Republicans would rather defend the NRA than their own constituents.
The President is going to need all the campaign donations he can get at this point.
