Trump and Paul Ryan just fired chair of agency that protects US voting machines from hacking

The head of the federal agency charged with protecting U.S. voting systems from potential cyber attacks has been removed by the President and Speaker of the House, Paul Ryan.

Matthew Masterson, the chairman of the U.S. Election Assistance Commission and a former Ohio state official, was known for “his expertise and leadership on cyber security issues.”

Per Reuters, “The action raises fresh questions over the degree to which Republican President Donald Trump and his fellow Republicans who control Congress are taking steps to protect the security of American elections, and some state officials have accused them of doing too little to address the threat.”

Add your name to millions demanding Congress take action on the President’s crimes. IMPEACH TRUMP & PENCE!

U.S. officials have already warned that Russia will indeed attempt to interfere once again in our upcoming midterm elections. CIA Director Mike Pompeo recently said, “This threat is not going to go away. The Russians have been at this a long time, and I fully expect they’ll continue to be at it.”

The impending meddling comes on the heels of the country’s proven efforts to influence the outcome of the 2016 election in favor of Donald Trump over Hillary Clinton.

While Trump has proven wholly willing to do Russia’s bidding by failing to impose sanctions passed almost unanimously by Congress in response to their election interference, this willful ignorance of these glaring risks heading towards midterms poses an unprecedented threat to our democracy.

Hillary warned us that we’d have a Kremlin puppet in the White House. Americans should have heeded her advice.
