Trump said he would spend the weekend “respecting the dead.” Here’s what he’s doing instead

President Trump journeyed to Florida this weekend, ostensibly to visit the victims of last Wednesday’s horrifying massacre at Stoneman-Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida – but his real intentions were made clear when he decided to fly to his luxurious mansion at Mar-a-Lago first.

While he did spend an entire half-hour with the victims at the hospital in Florida, it wasn’t long before he was back at Mar-a-Lago, where he decided to show respect for the victims by holding a vigil and vowing to take decisive action to rid our communities of the gun violence that kills tens of thousands of Americans every year, like President Obama did following the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Connecticut.

Just kidding. He held a huge “Studio 54” party at his resort, where he was treated to cheers and chants of “FOUR MORE YEARS” as he was lauded by the more openly racist members of Floridian high snobriety and the usual assortment of thirsty ghouls eager for some screen time with the President.

On Sunday, the President continued to “honor” the victims of the shooting by not playing golf like he usually would – but instead of going to church or doing anything related to the shooting, he decided to stay inside and get mad at the television with his large adult sons.

And what might he be watching, one wonders? Perhaps his own tweets could give us a hint.

It is beyond depressing to realize that this is exactly the kind of behavior we’ve come to expect from our lazy, unfeeling, and self-obsessed “leader.” While President Obama was mocked ruthlessly for showing emotion at the slaughter of toddlers, one barely hears a peep of complaint from the right wing about how President Trump is spending his day watching cars drive around in circles and complaining on Twitter about how law enforcement agencies are closing in on the evidence of his treason.

The double standard is unbelievable.
