Donald Trump Jr.’s wife Vanessa has been rushed to a Manhattan hospital after opening a letter containing a mysterious white powder reports Fox News. The letter was addressed to Donald Trump Jr. himself.
Thankfully, authorities have deemed the powder to be non-hazardous and The New York Post reports that it turned out to be corn starch. While details are still being withheld — as the Secret Service’s investigation is ongoing — it seems that someone was trying to terrorize the Trumps without actually harming them. A hazardous materials team was sent to the scene to check for contamination.
The white powder was presumably chosen so as to invoke anthrax fears. Public awareness of the toxins peaked in 2001 after a string of letters containing anthrax spores were distributed over the course of several weeks.

Vanessa Trump was taken to the hospital as a precaution, as was her mother and one other unidentified individual who was exposed to the powder. Donald Jr. and Vanessa Trump were married in 2005 and have five children together.
Incidents like this transcend politics. No matter what one thinks of the Trumps, nobody deserves to be subjected to terror like this. It’s an evil act committed by cowardly people. Hopefully, the person or persons responsible are found and dragged into court like they deserve.
