Chief of Staff John Kelly just made a resignation announcement that puts Trump in the hot seat

The Trump White House may be in store for yet another major shakeup. Reports have emerged indicating that the so-called “adult in the room,” Chief of Staff Gen. John Kelly, is willing to offer his resignation to the President as rumors swirl about the President’s displeasure with him.

John Kelly was loudly lauded by the media and by the political cognoscenti when he replaced former RNC gremlin Reince Prebius as Chief of Staff, the pundits and soothsayers falling over themselves in their rush to venerate the Calm And Rational Military Man that the media loves to put on a pedestal.

But it turns out that an old white man who has spent the majority of his career killing people of color in Iraq turned out to be as much of a racist monster as the rest of the team he was supposed to be babysitting.

It really shouldn’t have come as a surprise, seeing as the man used to run our illegal torture camp in Guantanamo Bay and then happily took over at the Department of Homeland Security, which operates the sadistic secret police that calls itself the “Immigration and Customs Enforcement” agency.

Kelly notoriously exploited his own son’s death on behalf of the president’s ridiculous feud with the widow of a Green Beret who died under mysterious circumstances in a raid in Niger and recently referred to immigrants as being “too lazy to get off their asses” and register for DACA protections.

As head of Homeland Security, he gleefully carried out the President’s agenda of white supremacy, implementing the travel bans against visitors from majority-Muslim nations, stripping Obama-era protections for immigrants, greatly expanding the scope of immigrants targetable for deportation, and instituted rules specifically instructing ICE agents to split families apart in order to “discourage” illegal immigration.

Now that the president is furious at Kelly for failing to do his job for him and allegedly concealing the disturbing accusations of domestic violence against ousted former staff secretary Rob Porter, we might be seeing the imminent departure of yet another one of the worst members of the Trump team.

While he’ll certainly find other ways to do racism, be it in the government or on FOX News, not having Kelly around to watch his every move and restrain his more infantile impulses is certainly going to shake things up in the White House – and heightens the possibility of Trump making the fatal mistake that will doom him for good.

UPDATE: Kelly is now denying that this ever took place, in typical Trump administration fashion, but the Trump team lies so often it’s hard to accept at face value.
