Trump just interrupted an intel briefing to attack President Obama on Twitter

President Trump once again showed the American people that he has no intention of taking his job seriously when he interrupted – or skipped – an intelligence briefing to fire off a frenzied tweet about something he saw on FOX News.

With the world’s most sophisticated intelligence-gathering apparatus at his fingertips, the President of the United States instead turned to the sentient, racist coiffures at FOX to tell him what was happening in the world, ten minutes after his daily intelligence briefing was supposed to begin.

Add your name to millions demanding Congress take action on the President’s crimes. IMPEACH TRUMP & PENCE!

Of course, the story itself that Trump is getting so excited about is much ado about nothing. The text messages between Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, two FBI agents who were having an affair and were quite candid about their opinions of then-candidate Trump (“He’s an idiot”) have been seized on by the right-wing as some kind of evidence that the FBI launched their investigation into Trump and his cronies as a political hit job.

The latest round of text messages, which reveal that the pair were prepping talking points for Director Comey because President Obama wanted to “know everything” about what they were doing, apparently “raises questions about Obama’s personal involvement in the Clinton email investigation” – according to FOX.

But the truth is that these “talking points” had to have been related to the Trump -Russia investigation, not the Clinton email investigation, because they sent on September 2nd, months after Comey had announced an end to the Clinton investigation and nearly a month before the discovery of additional emails on the laptop belonging to Anthony Weiner reopened the investigation.

Not a bombshell by any stretch, just more smokescreen and rabble-rousing conspiracy theories.

While it’s not a surprise at this point, it’s still deeply disturbing to know that this is how the so-called leader of the free world is spending his time in office.
