Trump just got devastating news about his upcoming Border Wall court case

What’s that thing they say about karma? It’s a Mexican-American District Court judge.

Remember, if you will, back during the 2016 campaign when Trump’s racist outbursts were mere water cooler conversations the next day and not the foundation of policy decisions codified into law via Twitter.

Then candidate Trump got into it with US District Court Judge Gonzalo Curiel, who was then deciding the case against Trump University. (If you’ll recall, that was the one where the so-called “University” defrauded students who paid up to $30,000 to “dump like Trump,” or some such nonsense promised but not delivered.)

Curiel ultimately ordered a $25 million settlement to be paid by Trump to the participants of the class action lawsuits. But not before Trump blasted the judge, calling him biased on the basis of his Mexican-American heritage.

In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Trump said that Curiel had an “absolute conflict” in presiding over the case, given that he was of “Mexican heritage” and a member of a Latin lawyers association.

A few days later, Trump expounded on his statement in his trademark elegant style on CBS’s Face the Nation.

“He is a member of a club or society, very strongly pro-Mexican, which is all fine. But I say he’s got bias. I want to build a wall. I’m going to build a wall. I’m doing very well with the Latinos, with the Hispanics, with the Mexicans, I’m doing very well with them, in my opinion. And we’re going to see, you’re going to see, because you know what, I’m providing jobs. Nobody else is giving jobs. But just so you understand, this judge has treated me very unfairly, he’s treated me in a hostile manner. And there’s something going on.”

Curiel hears a case Friday where he will determine whether the Trump administration can waive environmental regulations to build the wall. If he rules in favor, Trump will be one step closer to his wall.

If not, Curiel could put a huge barrier between Trump and one of his primary campaign promises. Trump better hope this guy doesn’t have a long memory, and if he does, he’s inclined to forgive.
