Trump just lashed out against the FBI officials that he appointed in ominous tweet

President Trump took to Twitter this morning to continue his seemingly endless barrage of attacks against the Federal Bureau of Investigation, accusing all the leaders of the FBI who have refused to assist the President in his efforts to obstruct justice of “politicizing” the “sacred” investigative process on behalf of Democrats.

Add your name to millions demanding Congress take action on the President’s crimes. IMPEACH TRUMP & PENCE!

The accusation is absurd, considering that the men involved – fired Director James Comey, fired Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, the current Director Andrew Wray and current Deputy Director Rod Rosenstein – are all registered Republicans. Two of those men were appointed by Donald Trump himself.

On top of that, Trump can thank James Comey for his presidency in the first place, since it was Comey’s appallingly poor decision to send a letter to the Republican head of the House Oversight Committee about the discovery of Clinton emails on Huma Abedin’s laptop that “may have” been “pertinent” to the email investigation that gave the GOP the ammo they needed to tilt the election in Trump’s favor.

These interminable attacks are all designed to destroy the credibility of our law enforcement agencies in the eyes of the public as Trump desperately seeks to avoid the looming verdict of Special Counsel Mueller’s investigation and get away with one only knows what kind of illegal and unethical misdeeds.

Quite an irony to see this kind of rhetoric from a man who has made obsessively venerating the cops one of his central policy positions, but it’s just more proof that Donald Trump doesn’t actually care about anything beyond saving his own skin.
