Maxine Waters just announced her own epic plan to upstage Trump’s State of the Union address

While the DNC has annointed Representative Joseph Kennedy (D-MA) to give the official Democratic Party response to President Trump’s State of The Union address next week, the latest member of the Kennedy dynasty to enter the political ring is not the only  Democrat ready to respond to the President’s highly anticipated speech in front of both houses of Congress.

One of Trump’s fiercest critics in Congress, Representative Maxine Waters (D-CA) will be delivering a retort to Trump’s speech on BET immediately after the State of the Union address as part of Angela Rye’s State of the Union, part of a new series of BET news programs to be produced by the CNN political commentator.

Water’s profile as a leading Trump opponent has steadily risen in the past year, fueled by her frequent tweets and TV appearances where she holds no punches in her attacks on the President. Trump’s State of the Union will surely give her a wealth of material to respond to and to deliver an alternative vision for the network’s audience of primarily younger-skewing African-American viewers.

While the President has been fond of bragging about how much unemployment has dropped amongst the black community during his administration, African-Americans have not attributed any change in employment rates to efforts on Trump’s part. As Waters is sure to point out, any upward trend in employment amongst the black community began before Trump took office and is unrelated to his regulatory decimation or his tax cuts for billionaires.

Waters’ response to Trump will certainly be one of the “much watch” events on television next week. Try to tune in before you switch over to see Jimmy Kimmel interview Trump’s porn star mistress, Stormy Daniels on his late night talk show.
