With the shameless manner in which Trump has perverted the American presidency into little more than a tawdry reality television show, one can’t help but — perhaps against their better instincts — be morbidly drawn to the drama, the clownish palace intrigue, and internecine fighting. The Trump Train™ wreck is hard to look away from.
One can only imagine what it would be like to get even a brief glimpse into the private scheming and fighting taking places in various pockets of the White House.
Now, it appears that special counsel Robert Mueller might do just that, getting an exclusive peek behind the closed-door plotting of the administration that he has been doggedly investigating for months.

The New York Daily News reports that former Apprentice contestant and ousted Trump White House official Omarosa Manigault-Newman may have taped confidential conversations during her time in the administration. The same report adds that Manigault-Newman is concerned she may be dragged into Mueller’s investigation.
In preparation for that eventuality, she has begun to take meetings with several high-powered attorneys with the goal of being prepared and armed if the Trump-Russia probe does indeed come knocking.
“Everyone knows Omarosa loves to record people and meetings using the voice notes app on her iPhone. Don’t be surprised if she has secret audio files on everyone in that White House, past and present staffers included,” a source revealed to Daily News.
If the tapes do exist, it’s only a matter of time before they’re in the hands of Robert Mueller’s team. Given Trump’s profound inability to control himself, it’s likely that some of the contents could be quite shocking. The American people deserve to know what kind of man they’ve elected to their highest office, to see how he behaves when the cameras aren’t around. Hopefully, they’ll get that chance soon.
