One has to wonder just what is going on inside Julian Assange’s head. With a recent history of providing support for the Trump administration through the strategically timed release of hacked emails from the Clinton campaign, WikiLeaks sent out a tweet tonight that was considerably less friendly to the President and his “Fake News” agenda than most people would imagine.
Ouch! Assange may be biting the hand that feeds him in this case, but this is one piece of news that can be considered neither fake nor particularly news since it’s not exactly a recent development.
Assange may brag about WikiLeaks “perfect verification record,” but when publishing purloined documents there’s not much to misrepresent except what the source of the documents may be. That’s still an open question that perhaps Robert Mueller may be able to discover, but at least this tweet is a sign that Assange knows exactly whom he’s dealing with in Donald Trump.
That may make WikiLeaks’ assistance in Trump’s election even worse than previously thought. For most Americans, the real winner of the “Fake News Awards” is Trump himself, and no one needs Julian Assange or anyone else at WikiLeaks to know that.
