President Trump took to Twitter this morning to proudly boast about how his middle son, Eric Trump, would be appearing on his favorite television show, FOX & Friends.
Eric Trump on @foxandfriends now!

What was left unsaid was the obvious fact that Eric was almost certainly dispatched for some public damage control in the wake of “Shitholegate.” But unfortunately for the Donald, Eric quickly regained possession of the lead in the interminable race between him and his brother in order to settle once and for all which Trump son is the “dumb one.”

When asked about his father’s racism, Eric replied that “my father sees one color: green. He cares about the economy. He does not see race. He’s the least racist person I have ever met in my entire life. It’s total nonsense.”

The argument that “my father can’t possibly be racist because he’s a sociopathic narcissist whose sole motivation is to increase his personal wealth” is not exactly a convincing rebuttal to the accusation that “your father is a racist because he called nations where black people live “‘shitholes’ and then said that he would rather more white people moved to our country.”
On top of that, the argument is demonstrably false, since Donald Trump was investigated by the FBI for racial discrimination in the 1970s when he specifically refused to rent or sell apartments to black families. Their money wasn’t green enough for him.
Eric Trump said his father isn’t racist, and he only sees one color: green. That’s BS, because when Black tenants were trying to move into Trump’s apartments in the 70’s, he didn’t want their “green”. He saw BLACK and he discriminated against them

This is not Eric Trump’s first public gaffe, either. The younger Trump consistently rams his foot in his mouth when he speaks in public or appears on social media, from his recent assertion that TV host Ellen DeGeneres was part of the “deep state” or that Democrats “weren’t even people,” or the time he told a golfer about his father’s $100 million funding from Russia…. the list goes on and on.
Sooner or later, they’ll realize perhaps it’s best to not let Eric go on TV.
