Democratic congressman Brendan Boyle of Pennsylvania, just issued a statement saying he will introduce a new bill to stop future madmen from running our country, citing the current president’s unstable mental state as a cautionary tale.
The “Stable Genius Act” would require all presidential candidates to undergo a mental health screening and subsequently file a report with the Federal Election Commission (FEC), “certifying that he or she has undergone medical examination by the medical office under the jurisdiction of the Secretary of the Navy.”
Boyle stated that, “Before voting for the highest office in the land, Americans have a right to know whether an individual has the physical and mental fitness to serve as President.”
His comments come on the heels of Trump’s tweets responding to Michael Wolff’s incendiary Fire and Fury White House exposé that sold out within 24 hours of its release and is being reprinted now, in which top White House aides, including former chief strategist Steve Bannon questioned the president’s mental stability.

The President believes he is a ‘stable genius.’ I do not. President Trump’s reckless, erratic behavior has exposed a critical flaw in our existing election process…
While it is necessary to take the current President’s concerning behavior seriously and I support legislation to address these ongoing concerns, I believe we must also be proactive and do all we can to ensure a situation like this does not arise again.
Just before the release of the book, Trump had infamously tweeted nuclear taunts to North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Un that had all of humanity wringing its hands:

Nevertheless, the Republican majority in both houses of Congress have circled their wagons around Mad King Trump, evidently willing to go down with his ship, if it makes the most rabid members of their base and the donor class happy.

Therefore, they are unlikely to let what should be a unanimous bipartisan no-brainer get anywhere.
Trump is the physical manifestation of the long-desired Republican president with “enough working digits” to sign their tax scams into law, regardless of the consequences to American citizens and the world.
The child-molester-supporting, tax-scam-running, crazy-president-propping, treasonous Russia-backed Republicans will get their comeuppance in 2018 and 2020, when Democrats march like the cast of “Les Misérables” to the polls, singing, “Do you hear the people sing? Singing the song of angry men!”
Patriotism used to be a two-party proposition. Now, Democrats must bear the standard of dignity, sanity, devotion to one’s country, and commitment to the world. We can never let up.
