Trump’s “fake news” awards are his latest salvo in his interminable back-and-forth war with the media, which he believes should only be allowed to portray him in a positive light, instead of as the disgusting, bigoted ignoramus he is.

What this ceremony will actually look like remains to be seen – if it even happens at all. But the fact that the president is even talking about it like it’s a serious thing is a clear indication that the year 2018 is going to be even more of a bizarre, dystopian rollercoaster than last year.
