The intrigue surrounding the question of which prominent American politicians will receive a coveted invite to the United Kingdom’s upcoming royal nuptials has just gotten even more interesting.
Prince Henry of Wales, known as Prince Harry to the public, will be marrying Megan Markle on Saturday, May 19th, in a lavish ceremony that will be attended by a host of famous and important persons.
Such an event would usually see the invitation of the American president, considering the close and special bond that the United States shares with the United Kingdom, but seeing as the globally despised Donald Trump currently occupies the Oval Office, such an invitation is no longer a given.
The media and the public are similarly curious as to whether or not the beloved Obama family will be attending the event. Their presence would surely infuriate President Trump, who loathes the Obamas with a disgusting, racist fury – and a snub to Trump would rub even more salt in his wounded ego.
Harry was questioned on the matter of Trump and the Obamas’ attendance during a special appearance on the BBC’s morning show, set to air Wednesday, January 3rd, and gave a tantalizing answer: “I don’t know about that. We haven’t even put the invites or the guest list together yet. Who knows if he’ll be invited yet or not—I wouldn’t want to ruin the surprise.”
The surprise has been somewhat spoilt by a senior UK official telling The Sun newspaper that “Harry has made it clear he wants the Obamas at the wedding, so it’s causing a lot of nervousness. Trump could react very badly if the Obamas get to a Royal wedding before he has had a chance to meet the Queen.”
President Trump’s official visit to the United Kingdom has been delayed, most likely in order to protect the President’s ego from the expected massive protests upon his arrival in the UK, where he is extremely unpopular for many reasons.
Trump has singlehandedly dragged our relationship with the UK through the mud through his deplorable feuds with London’s Mayor, Saddiq Khan, for his disparaging tweets following recent terror attacks in the UK, and for accusing the British intelligence services of wiretapping him at the behest of the Obama administration with absolutely no evidence.
Prince Harry’s public relations team is trying desperately to maintain the illusion of neutrality and not send our digitally deficient would-be despot into an embarrassing tantrum – but it appears Prince Harry himself has other ideas!
