A tale of two tweets, or what a difference a year makes

After nearly a full year of Donald Trump’s presidency, we have enough perspective to look back and see how things have truly changed since he invaded the White House.

Perhaps one of the best measures to look at on this Christmas Eve is the way presidential messaging has transformed since the Obama administration. Let’s look at some of the holiday tweets sent out by the former President and compare them with the ones being sent by the current resident of 1600 Pensylvania Avenue.

This wholesome family portrait encapsulates the warmth and generosity of the Obama era with an inclusive holiday message that can’t possibly be credibly accused of being part of some mythical “War On Christmas.”

Here’s another one from a bit earlier in Obama’s term:

How cute Bo looks wearing his Christmas collar, the perfect accompaniment to wishes of peace!

Even out of office Obama has sent holiday tweets that demonstrate his classy, dare we say, presidential demeanor by their tone and content.

Love, giving, and charity, such appropriate seasonal sentiments!

Now let’s hop over to the darker corner of the internet where Donald Trump’s twitter feed lives:

Hmmm?!? It says December 24th on the time stamp, but there’s not much of a Christmas vibe going on here. Has Trump been taken hostage in the “War On Christmas?” Or has he been replaced by the Grinch in a strange changeling incident? Let’s look at what else he’s been tweeting. Surely there will be an inspiring Christmas message in there somewhere.

Nope, that’s not it. That’s just more ego masturbation and lies, exactly like he posts every other day of the year.

Not exactly what we had in mind either, and that “winning” meme doesn’t really count since it’s a retweet.

Let’s keep looking.

Nope, no holiday cheer, no tidings of comfort and joy, just attacks on the FBI, ego gratification, “Fake News” rants, lies, and swipes at his enemies.

The contrast couldn’t be more obvious.

Perhaps the discussion should move on from the topic of whether Trump colluded with Russia to win the election illegitimately to whether he is secretly a double agent working for the enemy in the “War On Christmas.”  The evidence is strangely compelling.

Add your name to millions demanding Congress take action on the President’s crimes. IMPEACH TRUMP & PENCE!
