Bernie Sanders read the news and he just had to react.
President Trump, after claiming all along that the Republican tax overhaul was a huge boost for the middle class and that he wouldn’t personally benefit from the massive slashing of corporate and wealthy individual tax rate cuts, was caught bragging to his rich friends at Mar-a-Lago that they “all got a lot richer.”
Senator Sanders, having been warning all along that the GOP was simply enabling an acceleration of the steady transfer of wealth from the bottom 99% of the country to the top 1%, took an approach that showed that even though Trump and his Republican cronies have won this battle for now, he was going to to do everything he could to find a silver lining in the President’s ultimate admission that Bernie was right all along in his characterization of the societal theft.
At least Trump is finally telling the truth about his tax bill. https://t.co/pEwx0DvRiq

Bernie Sanders pointed out the normalization of the regime of lies that Trump has presided over, casting the news of presidential truth-telling as a “Man bites dog” story of our times. It’s a sad commentary, but it’s the only way to spin the news of the tax bill passage, and Trump’s disgusting gloating over its results, in any sort of positive light.
