Thousands of mental health experts just took unprecedented action about Donald Trump

President Donald Trump’s increasingly suspect mental faculties have been the subject of much debate in the mental health community – and the chorus of worry from the field’s professionals is rising to a crescendo.

Internationally recognized expert on forensic psychology and Yale University professor Dr. Bandy Lee sat down with Democracy Now!’s Amy Goodman and revealed that since she organized the “Duty to Warn” conference and published the best-selling book The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump: 27 Psychiatrists and Mental Health Experts Assess a President, literally thousands of mental health professionals have reached out to her with to share their serious concerns about Donald Trump’s mental health –  a “historically unprecedented” event.

Dr. Lee detailed the key problematic indicators in Donald Trump’s behavior:

“…his decision-making capacity, having such levels of impulsivity, having a loose grip on reality and being so fragile in his ability to cope with ordinary stresses, such as basic criticisms or unflattering news, will tend to unravel, especially in times of heightened stress, such as under the special counsel’s investigations.”

The president’s increasingly unhinged tweets, his inability to restrain himself from lashing out at the slightest provocation, his recent slurring of words, the now hundreds of documented instances in which his staff have treated him like a particularly cantankerous child…

Everything from the bizarre instances of him getting lost in public and the reports about his repulsive diet all contributes to an image of a disgustingly unhealthy man whose mind and body is rapidly decaying in real time – and none of that takes into account his obvious inability to empathize with other human beings and refusal to show any consideration for the consequences of his actions.

Every day that passes builds a stronger case for the invocation of the 25th Amendment and removing Donald Trump from office before he does the unthinkable – which he will certainly do without thinking about it.
