Savannah Guthrie just burst Paul Ryan’s “fantasy world” in brutal tax interview

Riding high on the fulfillment of his little boy dream of making Ayn Rand’s social Darwinist vision a reality, Republican Speaker of the House Paul Ryan went on NBC’s The Today Show to take a victory lap after Republicans’ Dickensian tax scam passed this morning .

His celebration was cut short however, when anchor Savannah Guthrie drew on her background as a seasoned political reporter to give Ryan no quarter on his party’s heartless and immoral antics, both on tax cuts and on sexual assault.

First, she attacked Ryan as “living in a fantasy” world for saying revenue from his tax bill will “trickle down,” according to the long-since disproven theory of Reaganomics.  Guthrie hit back hard at Ryan’s lies, citing CEO after CEO saying they would not reinvest capital from tax cuts in their companies, but would further fatten their shareholders’ pockets with dividends.

Next, Ms. Guthrie put Ryan on the spot by pointing out how he’s drawing a hard line on sexual misconduct in Congress, while letting President Trump off scot free, despite 19 women coming forward with credible accusations of sexual assault and sexual harassment.

Three of Trump’s accusers have demanded a congressional investigation, like those being waged against lawmakers in Congress.  Guthrie asked why their calls for a probe have been met with silence from Ryan and other Republican leaders.

Ryan spoke out of both sides of his mouth, dismissing the Trump misconduct allegations as “this other stuff,” while saying that he wanted to see the #MeToo movement “change the culture” in Washington and around the country.

The Republican House speaker played dumb on Trumps accusers:

I don’t even know what all of these allegations are.  I’m focused on fixing Congress. I’m focused on my job where I work, making this institution safe. I want my daughter to be able to grow up in an economy, to go into work, public or private sector, where she’s not being harassed, where she’s being empowered. That’s what I’m focused on. I’m not focused on this other stuff.

Ryan’s party just endorsed and funded credibly accused child molester, losing Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore.

Politicians underestimate Guthrie’s pretty face at their own peril.  Her hard-hitting questions leave Republicans stuttering over their own lies.

Meanwhile, American viewers will turn into voters in 2018 and 2020.  We will remember the GOP as the party of tax scams, sexual predators, and child molesters.
