Pope Francis just tweeted an ominous warning as Republicans prepare to pass their tax bill

Last night, the Republican Party passed the latest version of their “tax reform bill” which heap hardship on America’s most vulnerable citizens in order to enrich the very richest. Today, the bill heads back to Paul Ryan and the House for a quick-rubber stamp before being hurried to the President’s desk.

It is a profoundly immoral document that makes it very clear where their priorities lie and who they truly serve – the capitalist class, the exploiters and the thieves, the servants of mammon and the jackals who feed off the hard work of everyday Americans while doing none of it themselves.

It would appear that Pope Francis, the leader of the Catholic Church, has expressed his displeasure with what Paul Ryan and the rest of his so-called Christian colleagues have in store for the American people, sending out a tweet that this morning that should serve as an ominous warning to Catholics like Ryan who ostensibly fear for their immortal souls.

This wouldn’t be the first time that the Holy Father has quietly commented on the Republican Party’s incessant attempts to strip healthcare away from their constituents and funnel what little wealth they still retain up to the monied elites.

While Ryan and the rest of his merry band of free-market extremists may be eagerly awaiting their inevitable departure from Congress and to float away on golden parachutes provided by their oligarch patrons, the working people of America will never forgive them for this stunning betrayal of both the principles they claimed to hold dear and the hardship they are about to inflict on the people they swore to represent.
