Pelosi just humiliated Trump with perfect zinger after he blew up and stormed out of meeting

Too often in the flurry of commentary around Donald Trump’s racist comments, outrageous lies, and outright psychopathy, a basic fact is overlooked in the shuffle: this man is painfully, remarkably, almost impressively terrible at his job. If Trump were an employee of a company rather than an elected official he would have been fired long ago for any one of his many stunningly idiotic blunders.

The latest proof that Trump is deeply incapable of running this country is the government shutdown which he has caused and claimed as his own. Instead of simply accepting the fact that he won’t be getting funding for his pointless border wall because his manufactured migrant caravan hysteria failed to impress the American electorate — leading to a historic defeat for the Republican Party in the 2016 midterms and the takeover of the House of Representatives by Democrats — he has decided to dig in his heels and throw a temper tantrum.

Today, “President Deals” met with Democratic leadership to discuss the shutdown. Things went poorly, and Trump ran to Twitter immediately afterward to report that he ended his conversation with Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) abruptly because it was a “total waste of time.”

Apparently, he asked the two of them if they would approve wall funding in the near future if he agreed to open the government now. They told him no and he stormed out of the room like a petulant child.

Steven Portnoy of CBS reports that after the meeting, Pelosi addressed reporters and nailed Trump over his stubbornness by bringing up the hundreds of thousands of workers who are struggling due to the shutdown furloughing their pay.

“Federal workers will not be receiving their paychecks and what that means in their lives is tragic in terms of their credit rating, paying their mortgage, paying their rent, paying their car payments, paying their children’s tuition, and the rest,” said Pelosi. “The president seems to be insensitive to that. He thinks that maybe they can just ask their father for more money. They can’t.”

The comment was a clear reference to the fact that Trump received roughly $413 million from his father Fred Trump through numerous tax-evading schemes. Obviously, most Americans aren’t the recipients of such fraud, and for them missing a paycheck or two, or three constitutes a serious hardship. The president simply doesn’t care.
