Eric Trump just revealed government shutdown “good for us” politically on FOX News (WATCH)

Eric Trump is not known for his astute political analysis and strategy. Yet there he was on Fox News declaring that the government shutdown is a good political move for his father and the Republican party.

Nevermind that countless government employees will see their incomes plummet when they are furloughed from their jobs without pay or that vital government services will be unavailable or that, because of Republican vindictiveness, the military won’t get paid since GOP Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is blocking a vote to allow them to be. An entitled rich brat doesn’t consider those issues in their calculations of political gain.

Eric Trump appeared on Fox News‘s “Justice with Judge Jeanine” and told Jeanine Pirro that:

“Honestly, I think it’s a good thing for us. People see through it. I mean, people have seen a year that’s incredible. It’s been filled with nothing but the best for our country, ‘America First’ policies, and they’re happy with where we are as a nation.”

“I mean, my father has had incredible momentum. He has gotten more done in one year than arguably any president in history. How do they divert from that message? How do they save their own party when they don’t have any leadership, they don’t have any good candidates out there, they don’t have a message of their own? How do they do that? They obstruct, they distract, they try and place blame,” he said.

The misguided presidential offspring seems to think that Democrats have shut down the government despite the fact that Republicans control both the White House and both houses of Congress.

He thinks that the shut down is a Democratic tactic to stop his father’s “momentum,” citing the same fake claim as his dad that Trump has accomplished more than any other president in his first year in office when the truth is that he has signed fewer bills than any president in modern history.

Truth is an elusive thing in Eric Trump’s statements, however, as evidenced by this statement he made to Jeanine Pirro, calling his father the

“hardest working person I’ve ever met in my life. He has the Democrats absolutely terrified.”

Somehow this photo posted by the White House yesterday of President Trump hard at work (because the government shutdown prevented him from flying to his golf resort at Mar-a-Lago for his anniversary party for his first year in office) doesn’t seem to inspire much terror, but you can attribute Eric’s interpretation to childhood trauma, if you want to be charitable.

Eric Trump, along with his father and the rest of the fractured Republican party, might be encouraged to check the polls today. They’ll see just how good the shut down will be for their political fortunes when they see that far more people blame the President and Congressional Republicans for the government closure than they blame Democrats.

Stick to real estate, Eric. Political punditry is not your forté.  You can watch the proof below.
