It’s hardly news at this point that President Trump spends more time on the golf course practicing his swing than he does in the White House actually governing.
The media has exhaustively covered his costly trips to his golf courses, with many of them pointing out the abject hypocrisy of the habit. As a private citizen, Donald repeatedly criticized then-President Obama for his infrequent games of golf, painting the few trips he took as a huge waste of time. Now that’s he’s in office, Trump has far outstripped Obama in terms of time spent golfing.
A short sampling of the tweets in question:
President Obama should have gone to Louisiana days ago, instead of golfing. Too little, too late!

President Obama has a major meeting on the N.Y.C. Ebola outbreak, with people flying in from all over the country, but decided to play golf!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 24, 2014
We pay for Obama's travel so he can fundraise millions so Democrats can run on lies. Then we pay for his golf.
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 14, 2014
If Obama resigns from office NOW, thereby doing a great service to the country—I will give him free lifetime golf at any one of my courses!

President Obama played golf yesterday???

On Christmas, Trump tweeted that it was time for him to get back to work.
I hope everyone is having a great Christmas, then tomorrow it’s back to work in order to Make America Great Again (which is happening faster than anyone anticipated)!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) December 25, 2017
Not surprisingly, it was an insincere sentiment and rather than getting back to work, he decided instead to go golfing for the umpteenth time. CNN caught him on camera and the AP reported that he went golfing with a pro golfer, former PGA player, and Senator David Perdue (R-GA).

Per pool report, Trump is golfing today in Florida. His 85th day golfing and 111th at a Trump property since becoming president.
That means
33.5% of his days as president have been at Trump properties
and
25.6% have been spent golfing

Strangely, not only do Trump supporters not seem to care that he spends so much time golfing even after he slammed Obama for it, they are angry that CNN dared to cover the president’s wasteful leisure time. MAGAheads took to Twitter en masse to slam the news network over the story in a pathetic display of unhinged zealotry.
Golf happens. This is creepy af that reporters are hiding in the bushes trying to film our president.https://t.co/sdr7Vf8BIX

The outburst from Trump’s supporters demonstrates once again how removed from reality they are. They’re so deeply devoted to hero-worshipping their reality television conman that they’re filled with rage whenever someone tries to pop their delusional little bubble. They don’t want to believe that Trump is a failed president and they can’t accept that he’d rather golf than govern. Instead of rethinking their assumptions, they prefer instead to kill the messenger.
